Hazelight Games is thrilled to announce that their latest co-op adventure, Split Fiction, has continued its phenomenal start by selling 2 million copies within just one week of its release. Launched on March 6 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S, the game has quickly cemented its place as another triumph for the studio. Hazelight took to social media to express their gratitude, stating they are "blown away" by the enthusiastic support from both new and returning fans.

The game's impressive sales trajectory was evident from the start, with a remarkable 1 million copies sold within the first 48 hours. This means an additional million copies were snapped up in the subsequent five days, showcasing the game's widespread appeal. The dual-protagonist narrative, centered around Mio and Zoe's sci-fi journey, has clearly struck a chord with gamers.

As a cooperative game, Split Fiction likely has engaged far more players than the number of copies sold, thanks to its innovative Friend's Pass feature. This allows one player to buy the game and invite a friend to play for free, significantly boosting its reach and impact within the gaming community. As buzz continues to grow on social media, the 2 million sales figure is expected to climb even higher.

Hazelight's previous success with 2021 Game of the Year winner It Takes Two mirrors this trajectory. That game sold approximately 1 million copies shortly after its March 2021 launch, eventually reaching an astounding 10 million copies by February 2023 and 20 million by October 2024. This pattern suggests a bright future for Split Fiction.

In IGN's review of Split Fiction, the game was praised as "an expertly crafted co-op adventure that pinballs from one genre extreme to another," further solidifying its reputation as a must-play title.
