Stalker 2: For Science! Side Quest Walkthrough

In Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, players can embark on a side quest called "For Science!" This quest unfolds through interactions with various NPCs in The Zone. The quest begins with a meeting between Skif and Yaryk Mongoose at the Central Elevator in the Chemical Plant.

Initiating "For Science!":

To start the quest, locate Yaryk Mongoose within the Central Elevator area. Upon approaching, Mongoose will contact Skif via radio, requesting a meeting. Proceed to the first floor, bypassing conveyor belts and climbing rusted stairs. Vault the railing to access Mongoose's location and initiate the conversation. He'll explain the need to activate a second measuring device atop a silo, triggering the "For Science!" quest.

Reaching the Silo's Summit:

Exit the room and ascend to the building's roof. Eliminate any rodents encountered. Climb through a broken window and descend via an external ladder to the silo walkways. Equip a bolt-action weapon to counter electro anomalies. Proceed along the silo's top to activate the measuring device.

Dealing with the Aftermath:

Activating the device will attract Bloodsuckers. Players can choose to fight or evade them. Return to Yaryk Mongoose to discuss the unforeseen consequences.

Choosing Your Path:

Mongoose will explain the experiment's outcome. Players can choose to kill Mongoose for endangering Skif or accept the reward peacefully. Either choice has no significant long-term impact. A peaceful resolution yields the Malachite pass and coupons, granting access to the STC Malachite facility (unless already accessible through the main storyline). Killing Mongoose allows looting the pass from his corpse. The peaceful option is recommended for obtaining both the pass and the reward.
