Star Wars: Hunters Shuts Down Before First Anniversary

Star Wars: Hunters is facing an early shutdown, yet it will still reach its one-year anniversary before the final curtain call. The question remains: is celebrating the anniversary of a game on its way out really worth it?

When Is the Star Wars: Hunters Shutdown?

The servers for Star Wars: Hunters are scheduled to shut down on October 1st, 2025, marking the end of the road after just nine months since its launch. Players have a bit more time to wrap up Season 5, which concludes on April 15th.

Zynga, both the developer and publisher, is rolling out a final content update on April 15th. This update introduces a new Support Hunter, Tuya, available for free. Additionally, in-game purchases will be disabled on the same day.

Ranked Mode will keep running until the servers go offline, and events from the current season will be replayed. If you've got unspent Crystals, now's the time to use them as there will be no refunds.

It Isn’t Shocking

While it's sad to see it go, the writing seemed to be on the wall for Hunters from the get-go. Announced back in 2020, the game faced numerous delays and only managed beta tests in the SEA and ANZAC regions.

A delayed launch, absence of support on major consoles, and a tepid response from players contributed to the decision to shut down Star Wars: Hunters.

Even the game's design choices raised eyebrows. With the Star Wars universe brimming with iconic characters, the decision to introduce generic original characters instead of fan favorites was a misstep.
