It's Friday, and you know what that means. No, not a new episode of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, but a fresh release from Sybo! The Subway Surfers developer has discreetly launched a new game into soft launch for both iOS and Android. While we haven't had the opportunity to play it yet, here's what we've observed from the app stores.
Subway Surfers City appears to be a direct sequel to the original game. Though the original has evolved significantly since its 2012 debut, it's starting to show its age. Subway Surfers City brings back multiple characters from the original, along with new additions like hoverboards and, of course, modernized graphics.
Subway Surfers City is currently in soft launch on iOS in the UK, Canada, Denmark, Indonesia, the Netherlands, and the Philippines. On Android, it's available in Denmark and the Philippines.

Creating a sequel to their most successful game is a bold move for Sybo. However, it's a logical step since the Unity engine is becoming outdated and limits what they can achieve. The decision to launch quietly is intriguing, especially for one of the world's most popular mobile game franchises.
We're eager to see how players respond to Subway Surfers City and when it will become available worldwide. Let's hope it meets expectations.
