World of Tanks Blitz goes IRL with an enormous graffitied tank on a promotional journey

World of Tanks Blitz launches a unique marketing campaign: a cross-country road trip with a real tank! Wargaming is transporting a decommissioned, graffiti-covered tank across the US to celebrate its recent collaboration with Deadmau5. The street-legal tank, appearing at The Game Awards in Los Angeles, is a striking promotional piece.

Spotting the vibrant tank and taking a picture entered fans into a competition to win exclusive merchandise.

The Deadmau5 and World of Tanks Blitz collaboration is now live, offering players the chance to acquire the exclusive Mau5tank, complete with lights, speakers, and music. Themed quests, camos, and cosmetics are also available.

The playful marketing tactic, embracing the game's gamification, is sure to spark amusement, even if some hardcore military simulation enthusiasts might disapprove. While not the first to employ such a strategy (breweries have even done similar stunts!), the sight of a decorated tank cruising through neighborhoods offers a welcome distraction during the winter months.
