Team Ninja Teases 30th Anniversary Plans

Team Ninja's 30th Anniversary: Big Plans on the Horizon

Team Ninja, the Koei Tecmo subsidiary renowned for franchises like Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive, has hinted at significant projects to commemorate its 30th anniversary in 2025. Beyond its flagship titles, the studio has also garnered success with soulslike RPGs, including the Nioh series and collaborations such as Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. The recent release of Rise of the Ronin further solidified their position in the action RPG genre.

Fumihiko Yasuda of Team Ninja, in a 4Gamer.net interview (as reported by Gematsu), alluded to upcoming releases "fitting for the occasion." While specifics remain undisclosed, anticipation is high for potential announcements related to Dead or Alive or Ninja Gaiden. Yasuda stated, "In 2025, Team Ninja will celebrate its 30th anniversary, and we hope to announce and release titles fitting for the occasion."

Potential 2025 Releases:

The already-announced Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound, a side-scrolling title revealed at The Game Awards 2024, is set to blend classic 8-bit gameplay with modern enhancements. This marks a significant return for the franchise, following the divisive Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z in 2014.

The future of the Dead or Alive franchise remains uncertain. The last mainline entry, Dead or Alive 6, launched in 2019, leaving fans eager for a new installment. Similarly, the Nioh series has a dedicated fanbase hoping for a continuation. The 30th anniversary presents a prime opportunity for Team Ninja to deliver on these expectations.
