These are some early game tips that would have saved us a lot of time and frustration.

Avoid Unprovoked PvP

While Rune Slayer features full-loot PvP, it's not as brutal as it sounds. Death doesn't result in item loss. However, attacking players incurs a bounty. The higher your bounty, the more loot you drop upon death. Therefore, avoid attacking unless you have a compelling reason or reliable backup.

Craft Bags Immediately

Inventory and bank space are limited. Crafting bags is crucial. The Cotton Bag (crafted using Cotton from north of Wayshire and Flax from the south – be cautious of southern mobs) adds 10 inventory slots. Craft these as soon as possible.

Pet Deaths are Temporary

Contrary to initial impressions, pets don't die permanently. After a pet reaches zero health, it has a 5-minute cooldown before it can be resummoned (check the cooldown by pressing T). To quickly heal your pet, store and retrieve it at the stable master (you have one free slot).

Accept All Quests

The game features numerous quests, most of the "kill X" variety. To streamline progress, accept every quest available, including those from the job board. Often, quests can be combined, leading to unexpected efficiency.

Craft Everything At Least Once

While prioritizing needed items, craft anything you can with spare materials. Initial crafting often unlocks new, potentially superior crafting recipes. Experimentation is key.

Join a Guild

Rune Slayer is solo-friendly, but tougher enemies require teamwork. Joining a guild is the easiest way to find groups for challenging encounters. Use the in-game chat or the official Rune Slayer Discord to find a guild.
