Snapchat's new 2024 Snap Recap feature offers a fun, visual retrospective of your year on the platform. Unlike data-heavy recaps from other services like Spotify Wrapped, Snap Recap presents a curated selection of your snaps, one for each month of 2024. It's a more casual, less analytical look back at your year's Snaps.

Accessing Your 2024 Snap Recap

Accessing your personalized recap is straightforward. Simply swipe up from the main camera screen to access Memories. Avoid pressing the shutter button; the recap will be visible as a highlighted video within the Memories menu.

Tap the recap video (avoiding the share icon) to begin playback. The recap automatically scrolls through your selected snaps, one per month. You can tap the screen to manually advance through the recap. Once viewed, you can save, edit, or share your Snap Recap like any other Snap, including posting it to your Story.

Why You Might Not See a Recap

If your 2024 Snap Recap isn't appearing, don't worry. Snapchat confirms a staggered rollout, meaning it may not yet be generated for your account. The number of saved Snaps is a factor in whether a recap is created; infrequent Snapchat use might prevent one from being generated. Unfortunately, Snapchat Support states that you cannot request a recap if one isn't automatically produced.
