The Xbox Developer Direct series debuted in January 2023, followed by a second installment in January 2024. Maintaining this schedule, the 2025 event will also take place in January, specifically at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT. This announcement follows earlier rumors circulating around January 9th.

Game Spotlights:
The showcase will feature three confirmed titles. South of Midnight, a stylish action-adventure game from Compulsion Games (creators of Contrast and We Happy Few), originally announced in June 2023, is expected to finally receive a release date.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, a turn-based RPG from Sandfall Interactive, aimed for a 2025 release, will be highlighted. This title is confirmed as a day-one Xbox Game Pass addition.
Finally, id Software's Doom: The Dark Ages, announced in June 2024 and playable at QuakeCon 2024, is slated for a potential mid-2025 launch and will be featured.
While these three titles are confirmed, previous Developer Directs (lasting over 40 minutes each) have showcased multiple games. The 2024 event, for example, featured Avowed, Ara: History Untold, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, and Visions of Mana. Therefore, additional unannounced titles are likely to be revealed during the 2025 showcase.
