Yakuza Fans Vote on Unique Official Merch: Cult Clothes, Traffic Cones, and More

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the beloved Yakuza / Like a Dragon series, and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio is celebrating in a unique way by letting fans decide on the next official merchandise. With a diverse selection of 100 items to choose from, fans have the chance to vote for their favorites, with the top two items set to be produced and sold within the next two years. Although the voting is only listed in Japanese, fans can participate by visiting the official website.

The merchandise options range from the conventional, such as a 20th anniversary celebration hoodie and a Yakuza-themed pencil case, to the delightfully bizarre, reflecting the series' famously wild nature. Some standout items include the cult outfit from Yakuza 0, the iconic traffic cone from Yakuza Kiwami, and the intriguing "Puffy Gold Pants." Other notable choices are the sake from Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Akiyama's gold watch, Kiryu's fountain pen from Yakuza 6, Kashiwagi's tambourine from Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Kiryu's wrestling mask from Yakuza 3, and Saejima's prisoner uniform from Yakuza 4.

As part of the anniversary celebrations, fans can look forward to the release of Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii on February 21, 2025. Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio has a history of ambitious projects, having released the beloved prequel Yakuza 0 for the 10th anniversary. While no additional releases have been announced for later in the year, the studio's track record suggests they might have more surprises in store.

Known for their rapid development cycles, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio has impressively released nine games in the last five years, including Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Judgment Remastered, Lost Judgment, Like a Dragon: Ishin, Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth, and two Super Monkey Ball games, along with an enhanced remaster of Virtua Fighter 5. This prolific output showcases their dedication to delivering quality content to fans.
