Zenless Zone Zero 1.0 Character Tier List (Updated December 24, 2024)
HoYoverse's Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ) boasts a diverse cast of characters, each with unique mechanics and synergy potential. This tier list ranks all 1.0 characters based on current meta (December 24, 2024). Remember, tier lists are fluid and subject to change with new content.
Note: The meta shifts constantly with new character releases and balancing updates. Grace, for example, was initially top-tier but has fallen due to the introduction of stronger Anomaly units like Miyabi.
Quick Links
S-Tier
S-Tier Agents excel in their roles and synergize effectively within teams.
- Miyabi: Exceptional Frost damage dealer. Requires strategic play to maximize her potential, but her damage output is unmatched.

- Jane Doe: A superior version of Piper, boasting significantly higher Assault Anomaly Crit damage. While Anomaly units are generally slower, her damage makes her an S-tier contender alongside Zhu Yuan and Ellen.

- Yanagi: Excels at triggering Disorder, even without applying Shock, making her a valuable asset alongside Anomaly characters like Miyabi.

- Zhu Yuan: A high-damage DPS with swift Shotshell attacks. Works well with Stun and Support characters; particularly effective with Qingyi and Nicole in version 1.1.

- Caesar: Redefines the Defensive Agent role. Provides exceptional protection, powerful buffs, debuffs, and crowd control, scaling effectively with Impact.

- Qingyi: A versatile Stunner, quickly building Daze and providing significant DMG multipliers on stunned enemies, surpassing Lycaon and Koleda in this regard. However, Lycaon remains superior in Ellen teams due to his Ice-specific effects.

- Lighter: A Stun Agent with substantial buffs, ideal for Fire and Ice teams.

- Lycaon: An Ice Stun unit. His charged attacks apply Ice and Daze, synergizing well with Anomaly reactions. Crucially, he reduces enemy Ice resistance and boosts ally Daze DMG, making him essential for Ice teams.

- Ellen: An Ice Attack Agent. Her synergy with Lycaon and Soukaku is exceptional, delivering high damage, especially with her EX Special Attacks and Ultimates.

- Harumasa: A free-to-obtain Electric Attack Agent. Requires specific setup to unleash his full damage potential.

- Soukaku: A Support Agent who buffs Ice units and applies Ice Anomaly. Excellent synergy with Ellen and Lycaon.

- Rina: A Support Agent who deals damage and grants PEN (defense ignore), buffing allies and Shock reactions.

A-Tier
A-Tier Agents are strong in specific team compositions but may be outperformed by S-Tier options in others.
- Nicole: An Ether Support who pulls enemies and boosts Ether DMG while shredding enemy DEF. Less effective with non-Ether DPS.

- Seth: A solid Shielder/Support, but less impactful than top-tier buffers like Soukaku and Caesar, particularly due to his niche application for Anomaly DPS.

- Lucy: A Support unit with off-field DMG and ATK% buffs. Synergy with other characters enhances her DPS.

- Piper: Relies heavily on her EX Special Attack for damage, but this attack is highly effective when paired with other Anomaly units to consistently trigger Disorder.

- Grace: A strong Anomaly character, effective at applying Shock and triggering Disorder with other Anomaly units. Her relevance has decreased with the introduction of newer, stronger Anomaly Agents.

- Koleda: A reliable Fire/Stun unit, synergizing well with other Fire characters, particularly Ben.

- Anby: A reliable Stun unit with quick and effective combos. Gets interrupted easily compared to other Stunners.

- Soldier 11: A straightforward Fire Attack unit with high damage output.

B-Tier
B-Tier Agents have some utility but are outclassed by others in their roles.
- Ben: A defensive character with parry and punish mechanics. Slow and lacks team benefits outside of his Crit Rate buff.

- Nekomata: Deals high AoE damage but heavily relies on team support, currently hampered by limited synergy options.

C-Tier
C-Tier Agents currently offer limited value compared to other options.
- Corin: A Physical Attack unit whose damage excels against stunned enemies, but outperformed by Nekomata and Piper.

- Billy: Deals relatively low damage despite high attack frequency. Better suited for quick-swap team strategies.

- Anton: An Electric Attack unit with interesting Shock DMG mechanics, but suffers from low DPS and single-target focus.
