Two Frogs, the independent game development studio from Nantes, France, is preparing to release a substantial update for Back 2 Back in June. Dubbed The Big Update 2.0, this release promises significant enhancements for the game, which has been available on Android since the fall of 2024.
First, vehicles are receiving a major upgrade. The update introduces three unlockable levels for each car, complete with new abilities. You can equip a car that is immune to lava or one that grants an additional life.
Boosters are also being added to the game. These boosters contain collectible stickers that you can apply to your car for personalization.
A new map is on the way, inspired by the sunny summer atmosphere of Nantes, the home of Two Frogs. The developers have hinted that the map will have a seasonal feel, suggesting more thematic content may arrive later.
For those unfamiliar with Back 2 Back, it is a couch co-op experience where two players, each using their own phone, control a single vehicle. One player handles driving while the other operates the weapons, all while being pursued by enemy robots.
Success depends on careful coordination and timely role-swapping. The game utilizes intuitive controls, such as gyroscope steering and touch-screen shooting, with the action growing more intense as you progress. Back 2 Back is free to play and available on the Google Play Store.
