Alan Wake 2 won't be sold in Steam, Tim Sweeney confirmed

The user's simple inquiry about a Steam release date was met with a blunt "no," leaving them to explore alternative purchasing options, such as Xbox.

Alan Wake 2's situation is unique among Epic Games Store exclusives. Epic Games not only published the game but also co-financed its development with Remedy. While Remedy reported that Alan Wake 2's sales met expectations and expressed satisfaction with the collaboration, they've also announced that future titles will be self-published, opening the door for releases on platforms like Steam. Interestingly, despite meeting sales projections, the game reportedly hasn't yet turned a profit over a year after its release.
