Civilization VII Free Updates

Firaxis is committed to providing free updates based on player feedback. Initial updates will focus on balancing gameplay, squashing bugs, and improving overall quality of life.

Beyond that, the development team's top priorities include:

• Adding team-based multiplayer for cooperative play.
• Expanding multiplayer games to 8 players across all ages, refining the Distant Land system.
• Giving players the option to choose their starting and ending ages for more flexible gameplay (single or double-age games).
• Introducing a wider variety of map types.
• Adding hotseat multiplayer.
