Dark & Darker Mobile could be getting a name change from Krafton

Krafton's termination of its agreement with Ironmace will result in a name change for Dark and Darker Mobile. While Krafton denies a connection to the recent $6 million lawsuit ruling against Ironmace by Nexon, the timing is certainly suspicious. The lawsuit centers on allegations that Ironmace, founded by former Nexon employees, used trade secrets from a cancelled Nexon project (codenamed P3) to develop Dark and Darker.

Despite the severed partnership, the mobile game remains on track for its previously announced global launch date. However, it will now be a fully standalone release, distinct from the original Dark and Darker. The irony is not lost that Ironmace initially sued for copyright infringement, only to face a significant legal setback. This situation opens the door for similar genre releases, regardless of Nexon's actions.

While the name change and legal battles cast a shadow, players anticipating Dark and Darker Mobile can remain cautiously optimistic. Krafton's commitment to the global release schedule remains, though any future developments will be reported as they unfold.
