Forspoken is not wanted even for free. The game divided the opinions of PS Plus users

Nearly a year after its release, Forspoken continues to spark heated debate among players, even with its recent addition to the PS Plus free-to-play library. Those who experienced it for free are just as divided in their opinions as those who paid full price.

The December 2024 PS Plus Extra and Premium lineup announcement revealed a surprisingly positive response to Forspoken (alongside Sonic Frontiers), with many players expressing anticipation.

However, a significant portion of those who tried Forspoken abandoned it after a few hours, citing poor writing and "ridiculous dialogue." While some players appreciated the combat, parkour, and gameplay mechanics, the general consensus points to the story and dialogue as major detractors, making the game unbearable for many.

It seems PS Plus hasn't revitalized Forspoken's reception; the game's inconsistent quality remains a significant hurdle. In this action RPG, Frey, a young woman from New York, is transported to the breathtaking yet perilous land of Athia. She must master her newfound magical abilities to navigate this vast region, battle formidable creatures, and defeat powerful matriarchs known as the Tantas, all in a desperate attempt to find her way home.
