Fortnite's latest update delivers a nostalgic treat for players, reintroducing beloved items like the Hunting Rifle and Launch Pad. December is proving to be a busy month, with Epic Games releasing numerous skins alongside the annual Winterfest event.
Winterfest has returned, blanketing the island in snow and introducing event quests, Icy Feet, and Blizzard Grenades. Players can earn rewards from the Cozy Cabin and purchase premium skins featuring Mariah Carey, Santa Dogg, and Santa Shaq. Beyond Winterfest, collaborations with Cyberpunk 2077 and Batman Ninja add further excitement. The OG mode also receives attention.
A recent hotfix for Fortnite's OG mode brings back the Launch Pad, a Chapter 1, Season 1 classic. This traversal item, predating other movement options, allows players to quickly reposition or escape danger.
The Launch Pad isn't the only returning item. The Hunting Rifle (originally from Chapter 3) provides long-range combat options, particularly welcomed by players missing sniper rifles in Chapter 6, Season 1. Cluster Clingers (Chapter 5) are also back, available in both Battle Royale and Zero Build.
Fortnite OG's success is undeniable, attracting 1.1 million players in its first two hours. An accompanying OG Item Shop offers classic skins for purchase, although the return of rare skins like the Renegade Raider and Aerial Assault Trooper has sparked mixed reactions among players.
