Xbox's popular racing game, Forza Horizon 5, is making its way to PlayStation.
In a surprising announcement, Playground Games revealed that the latest Forza Horizon title will be available on PS5 this spring. This follows other Xbox exclusives, like Sea of Thieves and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, in making the jump to PlayStation.
Developed by Panic Button in collaboration with Turn 10 Studios and Playground Games, the PS5 version will boast the same content as its Xbox and PC counterparts. This includes all car packs and expansions, such as the Hot Wheels and Rally Adventure DLC.
This move reflects Xbox's growing interest in expanding its game reach beyond its own consoles. Xbox boss Phil Spencer has publicly confirmed plans to support the Nintendo Switch 2, further highlighting this strategy.Microsoft's recent investor call revealed a mixed bag of results. While Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny attracted 4 million players and PC Game Pass saw a 30% increase, boosting services revenue by 2%, overall gaming revenue declined due to a nearly 30% drop in console sales. This shift might encourage Xbox to prioritize Game Pass and broaden its game availability across different platforms.
Forza Horizon 5 continues the acclaimed open-world racing series. Offering a more arcade-style experience compared to its simulation-focused sibling, Forza Motorsport, Forza Horizon 5 lets players race and explore the stunning landscapes of Mexico. Read our full review [ttpp]here[/ttpp].
