Evidence suggests GTA 6 could arrive on PC eventually, considering Take-Two's CEO remarks and Rockstar's pattern with major releases. Discover the latest developments and what this means for GTA 6's future.

While Rockstar hasn't confirmed GTA 6 for PC, Take-Two Interactive's CEO Strauss Zelnick hinted at its eventual arrival during a February 2025 interview with IGN. The discussion centered on their multi-platform release strategy.
Zelnick explained that while Civilization 7 would debut simultaneously on consoles and PC, Rockstar traditionally staggers releases across platforms. "Our approach has been platform-specific launches first, followed by expanded availability," he noted, referencing Rockstar's past release patterns.
This strategy mirrors previous Rockstar titles. GTA 5 initially launched in 2013 for PS3/Xbox 360, with PC following nearly two years later in 2015. Similarly, Red Dead Redemption 2 arrived on consoles in 2018 before its PC version in 2019.
The CEO's comments suggest Take-Two recognizes PC's growing importance, though fans hoped GTA 6 might break tradition with a simultaneous PC launch given its anticipated scale.

Zelnick highlighted PC gaming's rising significance, noting PC versions now contribute up to 40% of multiplatform game revenue. "PC continues gaining market share in what was traditionally console-dominated territory," he observed.
Despite declining PS5 and Xbox Series X|S sales reports, Zelnick remains confident GTA 6 will drive hardware purchases. "Major titles historically boost console sales, and we expect that dynamic to continue," he stated, referencing 2025's strong release calendar.
The CEO acknowledged economic challenges but predicted meaningful console sales growth due to upcoming game releases. "We're seeing PC's market share expand, but premium titles still stimulate hardware demand across all platforms."

During Take-Two's February 2025 earnings call, Zelnick expressed interest in supporting Nintendo's upcoming console. "Our longstanding Nintendo relationship continues expanding as their platform evolves," he commented.
The executive noted Nintendo's broadening audience appeal, adding: "With Civilization 7 coming to Switch, we anticipate further support where appropriate." While making no specific announcements, Zelnick confirmed their commitment to the platform.
