Once dismissed as impossible, a Nintendo Switch 2 release for Marvel Rivals now seems increasingly likely. NetEase previously ruled out a release on the original Switch due to technical limitations. However, the more powerful successor could change everything.
At the DICE Summit, producer Weikang Wu revealed ongoing discussions with Nintendo. The key challenge remains ensuring consistently smooth performance on the new hardware:
"The first-generation Switch simply didn’t have the power to deliver the gameplay experience we envisioned. But if the Switch 2 can handle it, we’re absolutely ready to bring the game to the platform."

Game director Thaddeus Sasser previously confirmed no immediate plans for a mobile version or original Switch release. A Switch 2 port, if it happens, would likely require a custom build optimized for the console's capabilities.
The officially announced Nintendo Switch 2 is already attracting major industry support. Phil Spencer hinted at Xbox bringing its games to the system, and Electronic Arts (EA) has also expressed enthusiasm.
Meanwhile, Marvel Rivals continues to expand, with the Fantastic Four slated to join the roster in future updates.
