Moonstone, Marvel Snap's newest Ongoing card, is a game-changer. This 4-cost, 6-power card copies the Ongoing effects of your 1-, 2-, and 3-cost cards in its lane, making it a powerful, albeit fragile, addition to your deck. Think of her as a supercharged Mystique. Building a winning deck around Moonstone, however, presents a unique challenge, earning her the apt nickname "the Glass Cannon of Marvel SNAP."
After extensive testing, two deck strategies have proven most effective: Patriot and Tribunal-based builds. This guide explores both, offering optimization tips and insights. If you're still unsure about adding Moonstone to your collection, a brief review at the end will help you decide.
Moonstone (4–6)
Ongoing: Ongoing: Has the Ongoing effects of your 1, 2, and 3-Cost cards here.
Series: Five (Ultra Rare)
Season: Dark Avengers
Release: January 15, 2025
Moonstone excels in a supporting role, rather than as the primary win condition. A reliable strategy involves integrating her into a Patriot-Ultron deck. Focus on leveraging one or two key Ongoing effects from Moonstone, rather than over-relying on her ability.
To build this deck, pair Moonstone with Patriot, Ultron, Brood, Mystique, Dazzler, Mockingbird, Ant-Man, Iron Man, Squirrel Girl, and Mister Sinister.

For a more exciting, albeit less consistent, approach, pair Moonstone with Onslaught and The Living Tribunal. This deck prioritizes high-risk, high-reward gameplay, using Moonstone as a central win condition. Include Onslaught, Living Tribunal, Mystique, Magik, Psylocke, Sera, Iron Man, Ravonna Renslayer, Captain America, Howard the Duck, and Iron Lad.

Here's the optimal play sequence:
Psylocke and Sera provide cost reduction, enabling earlier plays. Magik extends the match, allowing for Onslaught and The Living Tribunal plays. Captain America and Iron Lad act as fallback options if key cards aren't drawn in time. While many predicted Moonstone, Onslaught, and Tribunal would dominate the meta, a surprising counter emerged: Super Skrull.
Super Skrull proves a potent counter to Moonstone. Since her release, many players have incorporated Super Skrull into their decks with great success. Enchantress, Rogue, and Echo also effectively neutralize Moonstone's abilities.
Moonstone's biggest weakness is her reliance on cards in her lane. Unless protected by cards like Invisible Woman, she's vulnerable to Enchantress, Echo, Rogue, or a Super Skrull in another lane.
Moonstone is a worthwhile investment for several reasons: 1) Her powerful ability will become even more valuable as more synergistic Ongoing cards are released; 2) She's included in a Spotlight Cache with two other Series Five cards, mitigating the risk of unsuccessful pulls; and 3) She offers a nostalgic, combo-focused gameplay experience. If you enjoy high-impact combos, Moonstone is a great addition to your collection.
