It’s the Year of the Raptor for Hearthstone with Plenty of New Stuff Coming Up!

Hearthstone's Year of the Raptor (2025) promises a thrilling year of surprises, fresh gameplay, and exciting new features. Get ready for the usual triple-threat of expansions, Mini-Sets, and Battlegrounds seasons, all launching soon! The overwhelmingly positive reception to the Heroes of StarCraft Mini-Set has clearly fueled Blizzard's commitment to keeping the fun rolling throughout the year, as evidenced by their newly released roadmap offering a glimpse into the game's near future.

What Does the Year of the Raptor Bring to Hearthstone?

One of the most significant updates on the horizon is a complete overhaul of the Arena mode. In development since last year, this refresh is poised to introduce a new generation of players to this long-standing Hearthstone feature.

Cosmetics are also getting a major boost with the introduction of new Mythic skins and Signature cards. But that's not all! Prepare for the arrival of adorable in-game Pets, part of a brand-new cosmetic acquisition system. While Blizzard is keeping some details under wraps for now, the potential for customization is immense.

The Year of the Raptor officially begins with the first expansion, Into the Emerald Dream. Card reveals begin next week, but the in-game celebration is already underway! Complete the Event Track to earn rewards including The Great Dark Beyond Epic cards, packs from the new expansion, and a Raptor Herald card.

What Else Is Coming?

A new evolving game board is launching alongside the expansion. The Year of the Raptor board will remain in Hearthstone throughout the year, receiving visual and audio updates with each subsequent expansion.

Finally, the Core Set is also receiving a significant refresh. Expect the return of some classic cards (with a few exciting tweaks!), alongside the addition of brand-new cards.
