Saber Interactive assures fans that all announced projects remain in development, despite the prolonged silence surrounding high-profile titles like the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake. Following the recent announcement of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3, Chief Creative Officer Tim Willits tweeted a reassurance: "Saber Interactive is one of the largest independent developers in the world. We are working on numerous games across many different genres. Everything that we have talked about is still in development. We will share information on upcoming games when we have something cool to share.”
The most prominent game shrouded in mystery is the KOTOR remake. Announced in 2021, its development has been marked by multiple handovers, apparent pauses, and restarts, resulting in a four-year absence of concrete updates. In April 2024, Saber Interactive CEO Matthew Karch confirmed the project's continued development following the company's separation from Embracer Group, stating, "It's clear and it's obvious that we're working on this...What I will say is that the game is alive and well, and we're dedicated to making sure we exceed consumer expectations." Willits' recent statement echoes this sentiment, yet tangible progress on the KOTOR remake remains unseen beyond the initial announcement trailer.
Saber Interactive also has other titles in the pipeline, including several slated for release this year. While John Carpenter's Toxic Commando and Jurassic Park Survival are still anticipated for 2025, release dates remain unannounced. A new Turok game and an untitled Avatar: The Last Airbender title are also in development. With the addition of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3, Saber Interactive’s development slate continues to expand.
