Warriors: Abyss is a Roguelite Take on the Warriors Franchise, Out Today

Following the release of Dynasty Warriors: Origins, Koei Tecmo unleashes another musou title, Warriors: Abyss, a fresh take on the genre. This roguelite action game, featuring familiar faces from the Warriors franchise, is available now.

Showcased during today's PlayStation State of Play, Warriors: Abyss allows players to build a squad of iconic characters and battle relentless waves of enemies. The isometric perspective evokes the feel of Diablo and the acclaimed roguelite, Hades.

Gameplay footage revealed a team-based combat system against demonic forces from "hell," showcasing characters like Zhou Yu, Nobunaga Oda, and Sun Shang Xiang.

According to the PlayStation Blog, players can recruit and expand their team, unlocking additional summoning abilities. Battles support up to seven active heroes, with a launch roster boasting 100 warriors.

Koei Tecmo plans post-launch character additions, beginning with warriors from the Jin kingdom in Dynasty Warriors. Further expansions are teased, hinting at the potential inclusion of characters from outside the Warriors series.

Warriors: Abyss is currently available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. A Nintendo Switch release is scheduled for February 13, 2025. A Dynasty Warriors Costume Set is available as an in-game bonus for a limited time, until March 14, 2025.
