Daredevil: Born Again – A Gritty Return to Hell's Kitchen

The critically acclaimed Netflix series Daredevil, which captivated audiences in the mid-2010s, unexpectedly ended in 2018. While Charlie Cox's Daredevil made cameo appearances in She-Hulk and Spider-Man: No Way Home, a solo series revival seemed unlikely. Yet, the Man Without Fear is back, and he's bringing the grit to Disney+. This article details where to stream Daredevil: Born Again and provides a complete episode release schedule.

Streaming Daredevil: Born Again

Daredevil: Born Again streams exclusively on Disney+. While the original Daredevil series premiered on Netflix in 2015, the new series finds its home on the Disney-owned platform. Disney+ subscriptions start at $9.99 (a free trial is not currently offered), and are also available as part of a bundled package with Hulu and Max.

Episode Release Schedule and Titles

Daredevil: Born Again premiered on March 4, 2025, with a double-episode release. Subsequent episodes will air weekly on Tuesdays, culminating in a nine-episode first season. A second double-episode release is planned mid-season. Episode lengths vary, ranging from approximately 39 minutes to over an hour.

Here's the complete schedule:

  • Episode 1: "Heaven's Half Hour" - March 4, 2025
  • Episode 2: "With Interest" - March 4, 2025
  • Episode 3: "The Hollow of His Hand" - March 11, 2025
  • Episode 4: "Straight to Hell" - March 18, 2025
  • Episode 5: "Sic Semper Sysema" - March 25, 2025
  • Episode 6: "Isle of Joy" - March 25, 2025
  • Episode 7: "Excessive Force" - April 1, 2025
  • Episode 8: "Art for Art's Sake" - April 8, 2025
  • Episode 9: "Optics" - April 15, 2025

Plot and Inspiration

Daredevil: Born Again serves as a sequel to the 2015 series, carrying over most characters and plot threads. While inspired by Frank Miller's Born Again comic arc, the show isn't a direct adaptation. Marvel's official synopsis describes a clash between Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), a lawyer with heightened senses, and Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio), a former mob boss pursuing political ambitions.

Season 2 and The Defenders

Initially planned as a 19-episode season, Daredevil: Born Again is now split into two nine-episode seasons. The second season's release date is yet to be announced. The possibility of a Defenders reunion is being explored by Marvel, given Daredevil's past involvement with the team.

Season 1 Cast

Daredevil: Born Again is created by Dario Scardapane, Matt Corman, and Chris Ord, with Scardapane as showrunner and Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead as lead directors. The cast includes returning and new faces:

  • Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin
