Wolcen Studio has introduced Project Pantheon, an exciting new free-to-play combat role-playing game that incorporates elements of extraction shooter mechanics. The first closed alpha testing for players in Europe will commence on January 25, followed by North American players joining the test on February 1.
"We've blended the tension and risk-reward of an extraction shooter with the battle dynamics of combat role-playing games," explained game director Andrei Cirkulete. Drawing inspiration from games like Diablo and Escape from Tarkov, Project Pantheon aims to offer a unique gaming experience. "We are eager to hear from the players," Cirkulete added. In the game, players assume the role of a messenger of Death, striving to restore order in a ravaged world.
Players will navigate through maps, engaging in combat with both AI opponents and other players. Success in evacuating from these maps is crucial, as it determines whether the collected trophies are secured or lost. The game also allows players to build their own bases, customize their equipment, and experiment with various play styles. The setting draws from world mythologies, and player trade plays a central role in the game's economy.
The initial adventures will take place in "Destiny's Edge," a region inspired by Scandinavian legends. Despite being in the early alpha phase, Wolcen Studio is committed to engaging the community to refine and enhance Project Pantheon.
