A Knight's Tale: A Walkthrough of Honkai: Star Rail's "The Last Knight" Side Quest

"The Last Knight" is a charming side quest in Honkai: Star Rail's Wuthering Waves region, offering a refreshing change of pace from the main storyline. While less grand in scale, it provides a captivating glimpse into life beyond Ragunna City and yields rewarding prizes. This guide provides a concise walkthrough.

Starting the Quest

To begin, you must complete Chapter 2 of the main story, specifically the "What Yesterday Wept, Today Doth Sing" quest. It's highly recommended to progress through the main storyline before exploring Rinascita extensively, as many side quests are locked until Chapter 2, Act 3 is finished. Once completed, locate Cosimo in Egla Town, Whisperwind Haven. He's near the first house adjacent to the main road exiting the town, marked by a blue quest marker on your map.

The Night Reveries

This stage involves a nighttime performance commemorating a legendary knight. You must defeat the Mad Knight, who only appears between 6 PM and 6 AM. Travel to the central town pool during these hours. The Mad Knight isn't exceptionally challenging; utilize your strongest attacks.

Mimic Chest Challenge

After defeating the Mad Knight, navigate to the tallest tower in town and fly to Carlow's location (indicated by a quest marker). He'll be unconscious near a large purple flower. Interacting with the flower transports you to a different instance where you must identify the genuine chest amongst mimics.

The first three chests are genuine. In the subsequent set, only one is real; the others are mimics. The correct chest is the second one in the middle-left. Opening it rewards Astrites and other items, but be prepared to battle the remaining mimic chests.

The Knight's Trail and a Strange Scent

Following the mimic encounter, you'll investigate locations reportedly visited by the legendary knight. This involves following quest markers and interacting with NPCs.

After speaking with Mr. Millkeeper, Abby detects a peculiar smell. Follow the quest marker uphill to encounter a unique Chop Chop with invulnerable Leftless and Rightless. Equipping a Questless Knight Echo is highly recommended to parry attacks and stun the enemy efficiently.

Mr. Millkeeper reveals the "legendary knight" was a fabrication; he and other Windmill Keepers acted as protectors. This revelation causes Carlow to flee.

Finding Carlow

Return to Egla Town during the day and find Carlow in a town plaza. He'll be confronted by knights mocking him. However, Carlow challenges one to a duel, abandoning his romanticized fantasy and embracing the true meaning of protection.

The quest concludes after Carlow initiates the duel. You'll receive Union XP, Astrites, and resources as rewards, completing "The Last Knight" quest.
