Yu Yu Hakusho: Slugfest Anime RPG Launches with PvP

Yu Yu Hakusho: Slugfest has arrived on mobile devices. This officially licensed RPG, developed by Hong Kong studio Zenifun Technology, faithfully recreates Yoshihiro Togashi's universe of spirit detectives, demon realms, and martial arts tournaments.

The original manga series first launched in November 1990. Created by Yoshihiro Togashi, it drew inspiration from his passion for horror films, Buddhist mythology, and supernatural themes. It delivered everything fans love: intense street brawls, memorable characters, afterlife bureaucracy, and epic demon battles and tournaments.

What is Yu Yu Hakusho: Slugfest about?

Set within the same world as the classic manga and anime, the game's story begins at the very start. It follows Yusuke Urameshi, a 14-year-old delinquent who dies after saving a child from a car accident.

Players embark on a bizarre journey through the afterlife as Yusuke becomes an Underworld Detective. He tackles increasingly dangerous supernatural cases, with the narrative evolving into high-stakes combat.

You can build teams featuring characters like Kuwabara, Hiei, Kurama, Genkai, Younger Toguro, Sensui, and Yomi. Each fighter contributes unique abilities to the battle, allowing you to combine them for strategic advantages.

The game utilizes a gacha system, making the pursuit of your favorite characters a core part of the experience. Engage in PvE content and summon characters via the Demon World, or test your skills in competitive PvP and GvG matches within the Dark Tournament mode.

Yu Yu Hakusho: Slugfest goes beyond retelling the main story. It explores deeper arcs, such as the portal to the Demon Realm and the Demon World Tournament, offering plenty of fresh content. Check out the game in the video below.

The original Japanese voice actors reprise their roles, bringing the characters to life with their iconic voices. The world is presented in cel-shaded 3D graphics that perfectly capture the show's intensity and emotional depth.

While it took decades for an officially licensed RPG adaptation to arrive, Yu Yu Hakusho: Slugfest is finally here. It's available as a free-to-play title on the Google Play Store.
