Two years following its 2023 launch, Atomic Heart has reached over 10 million players.
Although this figure reflects the player count rather than sales, it remains a remarkable milestone.
Available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, developer Mundfish described the game as having "taken the world by storm as a breakout AAA debut from an unknown studio," setting "a new standard for visual and cinematic quality in the FPS genre." It received more than 60 "best of the year" awards and has since launched three narrative-driven DLC expansions, with another currently in development.
Atomic Heart launched in February 2023. It is a first-person adventure shooter set in an alternate history "at the peak of the Soviet Union era." Our review praised the game, awarding it an 8/10 and noting: "Atomic Heart is a wildly imaginative, atompunk-inspired successor to titles like BioShock that, while not without flaws, demonstrates the ambition and heart to compete with the industry's best."
The studio is now establishing Mundfish Powerhouse, a game support service aimed at helping developers and investors bring "exceptional projects to market."
