The Evil Genius series may get a new game

Rebellion CEO Jason Kingsley hasn't ruled out Evil Genius 3, but isn't making any promises just yet. The franchise is close to his heart, and he's carefully considering how to elevate it for a future installment.

Kingsley suggests the world domination theme isn't confined to base-building simulators; other strategic formats could equally capture the essence of Evil Genius. While specifics remain under discussion, the team is actively brainstorming fresh ideas to revitalize the franchise.

Evil Genius 2, released in 2021, garnered mostly positive press reviews on Metacritic. However, player reception was more mixed. Despite graphical improvements and attempts to address past criticisms, many felt the sequel fell short of the original. Common complaints included the global map, minion and structure degradation, and various other gameplay aspects.
