Final Fantasy XVI is coming to PC on September 17th, marking a significant step for the franchise. Director Hiroshi Takai's recent comments suggest a potential shift towards simultaneous multi-platform releases in the future. Let's delve into the details of the PC port and Takai's promising remarks.

Final Fantasy XVI's PC Debut and Future Implications

Square Enix has officially announced the PC launch of the acclaimed Final Fantasy XVI on September 17th. This launch isn't just about bringing the game to a new platform; it hints at a broader strategy for future titles. Takai's statements suggest a possible move towards simultaneous releases on PC and consoles, a significant change for the series.

The PC version will be available for $49.99, with a Complete Edition at $69.99, including both story expansions: Echoes of the Fallen and The Rising Tide. A playable demo is currently available, allowing players to experience the prologue and a challenging "Eikonic Challenge" combat mode. Progress from the demo carries over to the full game.

In an interview with Rock Paper Shotgun, Takai highlighted the PC version's enhanced capabilities, stating, "we’ve increased the frame rate cap to 240fps, and you can choose from various upscaling technologies such as NVIDIA DLSS3, AMD FSR, and Intel XeSS."

With the PC release imminent, now's the perfect time to revisit our console version review, which praised the game as a "good step in the right direction for the series overall." The PC port promises an even more enhanced experience.
