The delay follows a closed beta test that received overwhelmingly negative feedback.

Disappointing Beta Leads to Delay

Tripwire cited the closed beta's shortcomings as the primary reason for the postponement. Their Bluesky post acknowledged falling short of expectations, stating a commitment not only to innovation within the franchise but also to preserving the core Killing Floor experience. Specific areas needing improvement, according to Tripwire, include performance and stability, UI/UX design, lighting, and weapon feel.

Player feedback from the beta was overwhelmingly critical. Social media and online forums were flooded with complaints describing the game as "insanely clunky," "unpolished," and "glitch-ridden." Concerns were raised about the departure from the series' horror roots in favor of a more sci-fi aesthetic, and the character/class locking system during the beta was also heavily criticized. Pre-Order Refunds

Automatic cancellations and refunds will be issued for pre-orders on PlayStation, Xbox, and the Epic Games Store. However, US PlayStation users will have the option to retain their pre-order. Steam pre-orders will require manual refunds through Steam support. Refunds for other platforms will be handled according to individual vendor policies.
