During today's Summer Game Fest showcase, Square Enix introduced Killer Inn, a new multiplayer murder mystery from Tactics Studio. This social deduction thriller pits two teams—Lambs and Wolves—against each other in a deadly game of deception inside a sprawling mansion.
Players are randomly assigned roles at the start: Lambs must uncover the Wolves' identities to stop their killing spree, while Wolves secretly eliminate Lambs one by one. The twist? No one knows their teammates initially.
Exploring the mansion yields survival tools, weapons, and gear from scattered chests and merchants. Completing quests earns tokens for unlocking high-tier equipment. With over 20 unique characters—each featuring upgradable abilities—players can arm themselves with everything from knives to grenades for self-defense.
Murder victims leave behind forensic evidence—hair, fingerprints, blood, or fabric—helping Lambs identify killers. The game tracks these clues automatically, flagging suspicious players.
Lambs can execute confirmed Wolves but face elimination if they kill fellow Lambs. Safe zones prevent Wolves from attacking, as nearby staff would expose them. Alternatively, Lambs can unlock a harbor escape boat—a risky but possible victory path.
Killer Inn will launch a Steam closed beta soon, though no official release date is confirmed. This fresh take on social deduction promises intense psychological gameplay with deadly stakes.
