In the eagerly awaited cooperative action game, *Elden Ring Nightreign*, fans will notice a significant departure from the traditional From Software formula: the absence of the notorious poisonous swamps. This revelation came from the game's product manager, Yasuhiro Kitao, during a recent discussion with journalists. Although a swamp-like environment was teased in the *Elden Ring Nightreign* trailer, Kitao clarified that it represents a different type of location altogether. The reason behind this change? The absence of Hidetaka Miyazaki, From Software's head and a known enthusiast of swamp settings, who played a pivotal role in including such areas in previous titles like *Elden Ring* and the *Dark Souls* series but did not participate in the development of *Nightreign*.

In addition to this major change, there's exciting news for those interested in cooperative gameplay. While *Elden Ring Nightreign* has been announced to feature both solo and three-player modes, there's a possibility of introducing a two-player mode as well. Initially, the developers cited content balancing challenges as the reason for not including a two-player option. However, From Software is currently reevaluating this decision, though no final confirmation has been made yet.
Mark your calendars, as *Elden Ring Nightreign* is set to launch on May 30, 2025, and will be available on PC as well as two generations of consoles. Keep an eye out for further updates as the release date approaches.
