DOOM: The Dark Ages, launching May 15th, aims for maximum accessibility. Unlike previous id Software titles, it boasts extensive customization options, a key focus for executive producer Marty Stratton. This includes adjusting enemy difficulty, damage output, projectile speed, player damage, and even gameplay elements like tempo, aggression, and parry timing.

Stratton confirms the narrative of DOOM: The Dark Ages is standalone, understandable even without prior DOOM: Eternal experience.

The game, powered by the idTech8 engine, promises enhanced visuals and performance. Ray tracing enhances the brutal combat and destruction, adding realistic shadows and dynamic lighting. Minimum, recommended, and ultra settings have been pre-released to allow players to optimize their experience. The Slayer returns, this time battling through the dark ages.
