Embracer has celebrated the remarkable sales success of *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, revealing that the game is approaching the 2 million sales mark. Launched on February 4 across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S, the medieval action role-playing game sequel from developer Warhorse Studios achieved an astonishing feat by selling 1 million copies within just one day of its release. This number nearly doubled to almost 2 million within 10 days, highlighting the game's strong market reception.
The game has performed exceptionally well on Steam, reaching over 250,000 peak concurrent players. For comparison, the original *Kingdom Come: Deliverance* peaked at 96,069 concurrent players on Steam seven years ago. It's important to note that *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*'s total peak concurrent player count is likely even higher, considering its availability on consoles as well. However, specific player numbers for consoles are not disclosed by Sony or Microsoft.
Embracer, which owns Warhorse Studios through its subsidiary Plaion, has described *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* as "initially successful," not just in terms of sales but also in player and critic reception. Embracer CEO Lars Wingefors praised the dedication of Warhorse Studios and publisher Deep Silver, stating, "It is our strong belief that the game will continue to generate substantial revenues over the coming years, highlighting the exceptional quality, immersion, and appeal of *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*."
Wingefors also mentioned that Warhorse Studios has planned a robust roadmap, including updates and new content over the next 12 months, ensuring a continuously evolving experience for the game's community. He expressed immense pride in the teams behind the successful launch, noting that the game has significantly outperformed expectations.
Beyond *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, Embracer is looking forward to the release of *Killing Floor 3* later this quarter (January to March 2025). The company employs over 5,000 game developers working on upcoming projects, with plans to release 10 triple-A games over the next three financial years (FY 2025/26, FY 2026/27, and FY 2027/28). Eight of these games will be developed internally, with two coming from external studios.
In FY 2025/26, Embracer has scheduled two triple-A releases toward the end of the financial year. Additionally, the company plans to launch several mid-sized games, including *Gothic 1 Remake*, *REANIMAL*, *Fellowship*, *Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core*, *Titan Quest II*, *Screamer*, *Echoes of the End* (working title), *Tides of Tomorrow*, *Satisfactory* (console), and the full release of *Wreckfest 2*, along with other mid-sized titles yet to be announced.
Despite facing challenges in recent years, including significant layoffs and the sale of studios such as Gearbox and Saber Interactive, Embracer continues to own Metro developer 4A Games, which is currently working on a new game in the series.
