Split Fiction streamers uncovered and conquered the Laser Hell secret stage, earning them an exclusive visit to Hazelight Studios. Discover how these players mastered Split Fiction's toughest challenge and what the acclaimed studio has planned following the game's massive success.
Following Split Fiction's successful launch last month, players continue uncovering surprises – including the elusive "Laser Hell" stage. Despite its brutal difficulty, two streamers successfully completed the challenge, prompting an extraordinary prize from the game's director: an invitation to Hazelight Studios.
Chinese streamers sharkOvO and E1uM4y documented their victory over Laser Hell on BiliBili. Accessing this hidden stage requires precise elevator switch sequences within the Isolation level. Successful execution transports players to a treacherous laser-filled arena.
Their achievement unlocked a personalized congratulatory video from Hazelight founder Josef Fares, who revealed even most developers struggled with the stage. Shortly after the streamers shared their accomplishment, Fares tweeted confirmation on March 19: "Congrats to sharkOvO and E1uM4y...I'll keep my promise and invite you both to Sweden..."

During a March 17 Friends Per Second podcast appearance, Fares discussed Hazelight's partnership with EA while confirming development has begun on their next project. While proud of Split Fiction's reception ("the best-received game we've done"), Fares emphasized his focus has already shifted to future ventures.
"We don't work on [a] game more than three or four years," Fares noted, teasing intense excitement about their next concept while remaining tight-lipped about details.
Regarding EA's involvement, Fares clarified Hazelight maintains complete creative control: "We don't pitch games to them...They have zero thing to say about what we're doing next." He praised EA's hands-off approach with Hazelight despite mixed industry perceptions of the publisher.

Split Fiction's March 17 update addressed community-reported issues including multiplayer glitches, localization improvements, and gameplay refinements. Meanwhile, the game shattered records by selling over 2 million copies in its first week – doubling the initial sales pace of Hazelight's previous hit, It Takes Two.
Split Fiction is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC platforms.
