NIS America, the publisher bringing these beloved Japanese titles to the West, has announced a significant commitment to faster localization. This follows the recent release of Ys X: Nordics and the upcoming release of Trails Through Daybreak II in early 2025.

Alan Costa, NIS America's Senior Associate Producer, confirmed the accelerated efforts, though specifics on internal changes remain undisclosed. While the localization process remains a two-to-three-year undertaking, NIS America emphasizes maintaining quality alongside speed. Costa clarified the publisher's dedication to avoiding rushed localizations at the cost of accuracy. The balance between swift delivery and high-quality translation is an ongoing focus.

The need for careful translation is underscored by the infamous delay of Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana due to mistranslation. This serves as a valuable lesson in prioritizing accuracy.
